Swatch Books for Digital Printers & Designers | “Adding Value”
Working with John Selby, CEO of Papergraphics, Fuga created the company's large-format digital print media guide and sample books. “Together, we wanted to create something inspirational and functional,” said Mark Fuga, responsible for Papergraphics brand communications design. “Many market players primarily resell other company's products; Papergraphics isn't one of those! The company develops digitally printable substrates by working with mills, coaters and associated material specialists to create, test and manufacture high-quality (alternative) own-brand products. And that customer-focused design effort and attention to detail also needed to be embedded in their swatch sample system.”
The swatch book system was 18 months in the making, from design to in-house sample printing. “These sample books are hefty!” Each book focuses on high-value digital printing applications and contains up to 40 swatches, each with detailed product specifications. “We've presented the swatches as printed A4 square sheets as we wanted printers and designers to get a true sense of each product's texture and print characteristics,” Mark explained. “We also expect customers to discover new, application-focused, cost-conscious digital print media they've never used before within each book!”
