Stickybits - Selling laminate films with a wry smile
“Send no photos home and keep the curtains closed. Truth be told, it is the florescent light of mediocrity that hurts my eyes and offends my senses” …

Perfect your product, understand its marketplace, get into the minds of your customer-base and promote with confidence and authority …
A simple formula for success.
What’s in a name … a brand name of “Stickybits” supported by imagery that at first glance could be considered irrelevant or sensationalist … what were we thinking!?
Well, that’s just it … we were thinking quite a lot. The brand development and marketing for this particular product was 100% entrenched in a thorough process of market research and customer questionnaires coupled with our client’s in-depth knowledge of competing product offerings.

What stood out specifically in this marketplace was that it was a bit of a media wasteland where laminating products rarely matched the specific requirements of the end-user or indeed their production processes.
Clearly there was a wide gap in the market for an innovative product range, one that had established exactly what it was that the industry wanted … a product range that was produced at the right weight, the right length and the right width. Our client’s product-development team undertook a lengthy process of information gathering and then set out (literally) across the globe to find products that would meet or supersede market requirements.
The end result was a superb product range of laminate films that was focused specifically on protecting graphic images from smudges, fingerprints, scrapes and scratches. It was at this point, and only at this point, that we began the process of branding and promoting Stickybits.
Armed with an in-depth understanding of the marketplace and the mindset of its end-users, we were able to begin structuring a product brand look and feel that conveyed 100% confidence, included a touch of humour and used high-impact graphics to capture the attention of this previously under-serviced market. We were confident that if we introduced a tailor-made product range differentiated through strong branding, that there would be every opportunity of capturing a large proportion of the market in one fell swoop.
Not guess-work—Not shock and awe
It was not guess-work, nor was it a random approach of shock and awe! Stickybits was the result of 12 months of intensive research, thought and creative development … and the work paid off. Within just over 6 months of the launch, Stickybits had “nabbed” 50% or more of competing products market-share.
Stickybits in now an award-winning range that is at the top of its game in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe and 2007 saw the launch of its sister brand “Hot Stickybits” which is set to take the fine-arts market by storm.
